ECOLOGICAL HORTICULTURE LAB

Our lab is interested in identifying and evaluating ideal and suitable woody plants that are resistant to the harsh conditions of managed landscapes.  Although native species are typically well-suited and adapted for many sites, we are also interested in evaluating introduced species, particularly from northeast Asia.  Several evaluative methods are employed, including water-stress resistance measurements in greenhouse experiments, cold hardiness experiments in the field, and long-term survival evaluations.
